Before hiring a marine fabricator, here are some questions you should ask…

How long have they been in business?

Lakeside has served the Southeast with custom marine canvas since 1993.

References of previous work?

We will be happy to share previous work upon request.

What type of fabric do they recommend for your boat?

Here at Lakeside we use whatever fabric the customer wants. We find that Sunbrella® and WeatherMax®  will meet the majority of our customer’s request.

Do they use UV rated zippers?

In most cases Lakeside uses #10 LenZip Zippers with locking metal pulls.

What type of thread do they use?

We use SolarFix PTFE thread which puts in writing that their thread is guaranteed to outlast any fabric it is sewn into.

What type of vinyl do they recommend?

Lakeside uses Regalite: durable sheet vinyl for windows. Benefits include resistance to clouding, yellowing, cracking and scratching. Amazing clarity!

What is their warranty on craftsmanship and materials?

Material manufacture warranties will vary. Lakeside will take each warranty issue on case by case conditions.

When making a new Bimini top, what type of frame and hardware will they be using?

At Lakeside we use only .065 stainless steel tubing with stainless steel fitting. Each Bimini will include a matching boot for storage.

Do they think outside the box to create the best fabrication per your request?

Because we use only top quality materials, we know your project will be built to last. We have in-house welding for the larger than normal project. Our shop is large enough to handle building party tops from scratch using our engineered drawings or covering an existing top with new material.
